Program Vision

Kingswood Academy’s goals are to strengthen our computer based learning programs by increasing teacher direction instruction which better simulates the classroom environments in which students are striving to re-enter. Students will be taught to think critically and creatively, and to embrace life-long habits of strong mental, emotional and physical health.

Our goals for the students include but are not limited to…

  • Strengthening social skills
  • increasing respect for authority
  • strengthening connection to family, school, and community
  • learn effective problem-solving skills, decision-making, and coping mechanisms
  • Success in reaching these student goals will be evaluated by improved test scores, increased community service and responsibility and decreases in serious disciplinary offenses in school.

Program Description

  • We provide academic instruction certified by the Delaware Department of Education
  • We provide psychological testing and counseling by certified family therapists
  • We provide a technologically enhanced curriculum allowing students to track and individualize their studies
  • Through partners in the community we provide vocational instruction and hands on opportunities to our students
  • The Academy staff is certified and experienced in their academic areas in addition to working with at risk youth
  • Kingswood Academy provides a safe and nurturing academic environment for our students
